IIFL gold robbery solved, two persons arrested

Police officials said that out of the 12 kg gold ornaments robbed by the accused, they were able to recover 8.6 kg gold. Police have also seized the car used in the crime. The Chandnnagar police are further investigating the case further. 

Pune:  Chandannagar police claimed to have cracked the robbery case at IIFL on December 5, after the arrest of two suspects allegedly involved in the incident. The arrested accused have been named as Deepak Jadhav (32) and Sunny Kumar (19).

Armed robbers had escaped with gold ornaments worth Rs 4.20 crore from the India lnfoline Finance Limited’s (IIFL) office in Chandannagar on Thursday. Chandannagar police had lodged a case of robbery of  394 packets of pledged ornaments worth Rs 4.20 crore in this regard. Police Inspector Shankar Khatke said that during the analysis of technical details, police found that a car used in the crime was spotted in Buldhana.
 
Accordingly, a team from Chandannagar police station led by Assistant Police Inspector Gajanan Jadhav was sent to Buldhana and first accused Deepak Jadhav was arrested from Buldhana.

During the investigation, Jadhav confessed about committing the crime along with three others. Police officials then arrested the second accused Sunny Kumar. Police are yet to arrest two other accomplices of Jadhav.
