ICAI to open office in Kashmir soon

PUNE: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has been mulling upon establishing its office at Kashmir. 

The Vice-Chairman of ICAI board of studies, CA Durgesh Kabra, stated that while the ICAI chapter has been functional in the Valley, the institute will set up its office in Kashmir soon. 

He spoke at the announcement of an international conference for CA students organised by ICAI which will be held at Mahalaxmi Lawns near Mhatre Bridge on December 14 and 15. 

“This will also benefit the students of Kashmir as well,” said Kabra. 

“There are around 1,000 CA students in Jammu and Kashmir. Besides, around 3,000 CA students are studying CA in the North-Eastern states. Fees for students in both these regions will also be waived off soon,” he said. 

Several seminars related to auditing, corporate laws, IT and finances and many more events will be held in these two days. The authorities have stated that around participation of 3,500-4,000 students is expected at the conference, said chairperson CA Kemisha Soni. 

The sessions will be held by eminent personalities in the field including CA TN Manhoran, CA Girish Ahuja, CA Ravi Pandit and CA Amarjeet Chopra among others.
