PUNE: "I am sure that I will win by a majority of at least 1 lakh 60 thousand votes or more," said Kothrud's election candidate and Pune District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil.
Patil was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the State Assembly elections here in Kothrud.
Patil's candidacy in Kothrud has been controversial as several people questioned why the BJP had given a ticket to someone from outside Pune, stating that it was their 'safe constituency'. '
However, Patil said that all those discussions are over now and that the people of Kothrud will still choose him.
"All is well that ends well," he said.
Patil will be taking a round of Kothrud till 5 pm before going back to Kolhapur to cast his vote there.
"I am certain that this time, the BJP-Shiv Sena will win at least 250 seats in the State. People have started regaining their faith in the politicians in the past five years, and this will reflect in the election results," Patil added.
