PUNE: On the second consecutive day, District Collector Naval Kishore Ram has declared a holiday to all schools and colleges in Pune district on Tuesday, August 6.
The decision was taken as discharge of water from several dams across the district remained enormous. Since rain and river water threatened a flood-like situation with several bridges in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad submerged, the holiday has been declared to ensure safety of students.
“To avoid any untoward incident, I declare a holiday to all pre-primary, primary, secondary, higher secondary schools and colleges in the district,” said the notification signed by the district collector.
