PUNE: Two men from Ahmednagar district have been arrested by the Hadapsar police in vehicle theft cases. Police claimed to have recovered one SUV and 18 bikes, totally worth Rs 10.15 lakh from their possession. These vehicles were stolen from Hadapsar, Pune city and Pune rural police jurisdiction.
The arrested accused have been identified as Harshvardhan Gautam Ghodke (25) and Yuvraj Arjun Dhone (20), both residents of Mirajgaon in Karjat taluka of Ahmednagar district.
According to police, the duo were found checking various vehicles in the parking lot of Mhaske Hospital in Hadapsar on August 12. Accordingly, a special team formed to investigate vehicle thefts nabbed them. During the investigation, the accused led the team to the vehicles stolen by them.
Senior Police Inspector Sunil Tambe and inspector (Crime) Kumbhar supervised the investigation team, which included API Prasad Lonare, PSI Mahesh Bhange, Head Constable Yusuf Pathan, Police Naik Pratap Gaikwad, Vinod Shivle, Nitin Mundhe, Akbar Shaikh and Shashikant Nale.
