All police inspectors in-charge of traffic divisions have been instructed to give a copy of this rule to all vehicle dealers in their jurisdiction

Pune: The traffic branch of Pune city police has written to RTO to make helmet compulsory while selling two-wheelers as the police are strictly implementing the helmet rule.

DCP (Traffic) Pankaj Deshmukh stated in his letter dated May 15, “The dealers must supply two helmets while selling the two-wheelers. Also, when the vehicle documents reach the RTO for registration, confirm that two helmets were given while selling the vehicle. If this rule is not complied with, then action will be taken against the dealer.”

All police inspectors in-charge of traffic divisions have been instructed to give a copy of this rule to all vehicle dealers in their jurisdiction.

Officials said that as the crackdown on helmetless drivers is going on and many people have died because of not wearing helmets, the dealers must supply helmets while selling vehicles.
