The incident took place around May 29.

When the girl realised that she was scammed, she approached the Chatuhshrungi police station to lodge a complaint.

As per information shared by the Chatuhshrungi police, the girl, a resident of Aundh, wanted to sell her old furniture.

As she placed the advertisement to sell the furniture, she was approached by the fraudster who asked her to download the ‘Google Pay’ mobile application so that he is able to transfer her the money.

However, the fraudster linked the ‘Google Pay’ account of the victim and asked her to approve certain transactions.
