Pune: There has been an increase of 20 to 30 per cent in joint pains during the winter season and hence, Apollo Spectra Hospital has organised a free free joint pain camp.
During winters, accumulation of inflammatory chemicals in joints takes place and as this starts hurting gradually, leading to an increase in cases of joint pains.
Dr Aashish Arbat, Joint Replacement surgeon at Apollo Spectra Hospital, Pune said, “Senior citizens face this problem frequently as their bones tend to be weaker. So they face stiffness in their knee and back along with joint pains. Hence many times, they tend to trip and fall, leading to pains and aches,” said Arbat.
