Four held for raping minor girl in Saswad

Pune: Four persons, including two minors, have been arrested by Saswad police for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old minor girl in Saswad. Two of the accused were arrested on Wednesday night whereas the remaining two were arrested on Thursday.

The accused have been identified as Ajay Khomne (19), a resident of Sahara Gold Society, Saswad, Aadesh Chaure (22), a resident of Ashok Nagar, Saswad, and the two 16-year-old minors.

The initial complaint of kidnapping was registered at Saswad police station by the parents of the girl on November 18. However, a local social worker found the girl in a devastated state on November 19 at Saswad bus stand.

Mukund Palwe, Assistant Police inspector, Saswad police station, said, “On November 18, the girl was at a market near Nagar Palika and was returning home when she was approached by one of the minors who offered to drop her. However, instead of dropping her home, the accused took her to a remote spot behind the local court and raped her.
After raping the girl, the accused minor threatened to kill the girl in case she reveals the incident. He then dropped her at the market and told her to stay there. Within 5-10 minutes, he came there again with two of his friends and forced the girl to go with them.”

Palwe informed that Chaure and the other minor then took the girl to a lodge in Jejuri and raped her. After raping her, they again took her to the same spot and then handed her over to Khomne, who took her to a lodge in Waghapur where he raped her.
