Four booked for attempt to grab ex-serviceman’s land

Pune: An 82-year-old retired Army captain has filed an FIR against four persons for allegedly trying to grab his land in Kondhwa.

Based on complaint from Capt Parmindar Singh Sardar Avtar (Retd), a resident of Salunke Vihar, the Kondhwa police have registered a case against Ayub Patwekar, Habiba Ansari Shaikh, Arif Mansur Sayyed, all three residents of Nana Peth, and Atarbashin Mohamad Sohail Hamid of Camp.

According to the police, the incident came to light in October 2017. Avtar owns land at survey no. 11, hissa no. 15 in Kondhwa. The accused had bought the adjacent land at hissa no. 16 and others in 2010. They conspired to show Avtar's land is hissa no. 16 and took an electricity connection on that land.

"They also forged a rent agreement document to show that there is a building on that land and that 725 sq ft area on the ground floor has been rented for Rs 50,000 per month with Rs 6 lakh as deposit. In October 2017, when I had gone to check, the accused persons had hired contractors who were erecting tin sheds there and I objected. I also issued them a notice," Avtar stated in his complaint.

Police officials have booked the accused persons for offences under sections 447 (punishment for criminal trespass), 465 (punishment for forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will, etc) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
