Foundation stone to boost dental healthcare laid

Pune: Yet another feather was added to the cap of the Army Dental Corps on Monday as the foundation stone for an additional building was laid by Southern Army Commander Lieutenant General DR Soni.

Head of the Army Dental Corps, Lt Gen TK Bandyopadhyay was present on the occasion. The ceremony was also graced by senior officers of Southern Command and the medical and dental fraternity of Pune garrison.

Maj Gen SM Londhe, Commandant, Command Military Dental Centre, the seniormost dental officer of Southern Command, informed the gathering about the upcoming facility. He said the additional building would enhance the oral healthcare provided in the form of sophisticated dental surgeries, Minor Operation Theatre and state-of-the-art Maxillofacial Trauma Centre, Tempro Mandibular Joint Arthroscopy Centre, treatment of multiple and complex facial fractures via resorbable plating systems, Computer Aided Designing (CAD) & Computer Aided Machining (CAM) prosthesis fabrication, invisible orthodontics, Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology Centre are amongst many other modern tertiary care facilities. He said the building would be equipped with new training and demonstration facilities.

The Army Commander lauded the efforts of the Army Dental Corps for providing comprehensive Oral & Maxillofacial healthcare to the armed forces.
