First merit list of bifocal subjects declared

Pune: As the Deputy Director of Education's Pune division office has declared the first merit list of bifocal subjects, as many as 2,408 students have been allotted colleges against 8,495 seats across Science and Commerce streams.

The merit list was published on the official website of Common Admission Process (CAP) at Pune division ie., https://pune.11thadmission.net/ at 11 am on Thursday. Simultaneously, the admissions for bifocal subjects have also started from Thursday and will end on Friday at 5 pm.

A total of 1,102 students have got colleges as per their first preference. While 4,878 students were declared eligible for admission in bifocal subjects.

“It will be mandatory to take admission in respective colleges for those students who have received colleges as per their first preference otherwise they will be banned from rest of the admission process including general admission procedure,” said Minakshi Raut, acting deputy director of education, Pune division.

If students have received colleges preferred between second to tenth options, they can reapply in the second round to get a college of their choice. However, if a student takes admission and cancels it, then he or she will not be eligible for further rounds.

Till last year, the bifocal admissions were done after the CAP rounds for other streams but from this year, the CAP committee decided to hold the admissions for bifocal stream before the others.

The zero round will be divided again into two rounds. The first round of zero round admissions after the first merit list will be conducted between June 21 and 22 from 11 am to 5 pm. No extensions will be given by the CAP committee.

DyDE has received complaints from students that many schools have been demanding to furnish school leaving certificate as the Std X mark sheets have not been given yet. “These school principals should issue leaving certificates (LC) based on the online mark sheets available. Also, the colleges where the students will apply for admissions should consider that not all schools have issued LC and hence, should accept admissions based on the online mark sheet and give enough time to students to provide the document,” said Raut.
