Pune: A week after violence in Koregaon-Bhima, a First Investigation Report (FIR) was registered on Monday night against Kabir Kala Manch members, which organised Elgaar Parishad, a day before the violence, at Shaniwarwada.
The complainant alleged that organisers had links with the banned CPI (Maoist) and they incited people for violence through provocative songs and plays.
Based on the complaint by real estate businessman Tushar Ramesh Damgude (37) of Katraj, Vishrambaug police booked Kabir Kala Manch’s Sudhir Dhawle, Deepak Dengale, Jyoti Jagtap, Harshali Potdar, Ramesh Gaychor, Sagar Gorkhe and others.
Meanwhile, Kabir Kala Manch members, some of whom have been arrested earlier, said the FIR is an afterthought and that singing “vidrohi” songs cannot be termed provocative.
“The police had done video shooting of the event but they didn’t file any case for a week,” said a member of the organisation.
