PUNE: Dr Supreet Marathe, M Ch Gold Medalist paediatric cardiac surgeon from the city, has been awarded a fellowship in paediatric cardiac surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital, one of the best paediatric cardiac surgical centres in the USA.
The institute is affiliated to renowned Harvard Medical School in the USA.
Dr Supreet will be mentored for intricate surgeries in neonates and children with congenital cardiac lesions under the guidance of Dr Pedro Del Nido.
As per Dr Marathe, there is a dearth of such super specialists in India.
Over the last three-and-half years Dr Supreet has done fellowships in paediatric cardiac surgery at Westmead Children’s Hospital, Sydney under the guidance of David Winlaw and Queensland Children’s Hospital, Brisbane under the guidance of Dr Nelson Alphonso, both renowned paediatric cardiac surgeons.
