Dismiss MSEDCL regional director Taksande: Activist

PUNE: Pune district Maharashtra Vidyut Sansthan Committee (MVSC) member Santosh Saundkar has alleged that Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s (MSEDCL) Regional Director Sanjay Taksande has been misusing his position and has indulged in corruption in the transfer of employees.

Saundankar was talking to media on Friday and said that while posted on a higher position, he has taken a wrong decision for self-benefit, which caused huge losses to MSEDCL.

Saundankar, who was present with bundles of documents, said, “Taksande was accused of corruption while being a Superintendent of Vasai territory. After the investigation, the allegations were found to be true and he was dismissed from his post. He got promotions by avoiding action against him. Since being appointed as the Regional Director, Taksande has been continuously misusing his post. He spent lakhs of rupees on the renovation of his office, which was not needed. Out of the 392 transfers he has done, 77 illegal transfers were done in his circle.”

MSEDCL has however said, “Saundankar is making false allegations against Mahavitran and Sanjay Taksande. A complaint has been given to the district collector against him for misbehaving with staff, Mahavitran security personnel, liftmen and others. Apart from this, a complaint has been filed against him at Chatuhshrungi police station.”
