Credit card fraudsters dupe bank official

Pune: A 41-year-old man, who works as assistant vice president with a private bank, has lodged an FIR with Hadapsar police station alleging that his identity documents were taken under the pretext of making a credit card but misused to make another credit card which the fraudsters used to shop goods worth Rs 4.51 lakh.

He had handed over the documents at Seasons Mall on November 2, 2017. “I had gone there for shopping. Three-four youths were giving information about SBI credit card inside Star Bazaar. I forwarded copies of my Aadhaar card, PAN card, a photo to the executive who had identified himself as Ajay. I had missed their verification call. I got engaged in my work and didn’t get the card. However, in May this year, I got a call from SBI that Rs 4.51 lakhs is pending on my credit card. Later, I found out that the card has been issued in my name but to a different address,” the complainant told police.
