Pimpri: CREDAI-Pune Metro provided about 12 beds, ventilators and other essential medical items at the ICU ward of Jijamata Hospital, Pimpri under the CSR fund.
Shravan Hardikar, Commissioner, PCMC, representatives of CREDAI-Pune Metro including Suhas Merchant, President, Anil Pharande, Vice-President, I.P. Inamdar, Treasurer and other members including Dr D.K. Abhyankar, Director General, Vinod Chandwani, Santosh Karnavat and Satish Agarwal, Tushar Hinge, Dy Mayor, Santosh Londe, Standing Committee Chairman, Nana Kate, Opposition Leader, Namdev Dake, Party Leader, Archana Barne, Ward President, Corporators including Dabbu Aswani, Sandeep Waghere, Usha Waghere and Nikita Kadam, Assistant Commissioners of PCMC- Anna Bodade and Smita Zagade, Additional Medical Health Officers- Dr Pawan Salve and Dr Varsha Dange, Dr Sangeeta Tirumani, Medical Officer and Nilkanth Poman, Chief IT Officer among others were present at the handover ceremony held at Jijamata Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, PCMC Mayor, Mai Dore said, that since the residents of Pimpri Camp, Pimpri Gaon, Pimple Gurav, Pimple Saudagar and Link Road required an up-to-date hospital in the wake of the Corona epidemic, the administration has completed the work of Jijamata Hospital on a war footing along with the construction of the ICU ward in a short span of time, which accordingly will reduce the stress on YCM Hospital and will benefit the citizens of other areas as well.
“The PCMC administration is making every effort to fight the global epidemic of Corona. I appeal to all social organizations in the city to come forward to help citizens in a useful way,” said Dore.
Suhas Merchant, President of CREDAI-Pune Metro said, “In the last two and a half months, CREDAI has provided Rs. 15 Crore to Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporations for the upkeep of their medical department under the CSR fund. CREDAI has also provided PPE kits and foodgrains to the needy and help to the police department. As PCMC Commissioner, Shravan Hardikar had appealed to CREDAI to help in set up an ICU ward at Jijamata Hospital in Pimpri, CREDAI representatives including Anil Pharande, Santosh Karnavat and Dr D.K. Abhyankar took the initiative by completing all the procedures in a short time.”
Hardikar stated, “During the onset of the pandemic in the state, Pimpri Chinchwad was the most affected place. While the patients were growing rapidly in the city, the administration, on the other hand, was working towards building essential medical services. As a result, a new 100-bed, Jijamata Hospital in Bhosari and a 120-bed, Jijamata Hospital in Pimpri were set up. On behalf of the citizens and administration of the city, I thank CREDAI Metro Pune for providing the necessary equipment for the ICU ward at the hospital.”
