COVID-19: Pune records highest single-day spike of coronavirus cases

Pune city reported 937 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours with 14 deaths.

The latest number of coronavirus  is not at all a good one for Pune as the city reported its highest surge in a single day of COVID-19 patients.

The situation has now got worse as the Pune reported 937 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours with 14 deaths. There are 344 patients which are serious while 56 are receiving the ventilator support. 

Also, 4,140 swab test were conducted in Pune which are the highest test conducted in the city so far. Out of 937 new cases, 672 new cases are reported from Naidu Hospital followed by 253 in private hospitals and 12 from Sassoon Hospital. With record break cases in city, the total of Pune city now has jumped to 19,042.

Also, 631 patients were recovered and were discharged from the hospital in past 24 hours. With this, total number of recoveries in the city now are 11,671. 

The situation remains to be grim in Pune Metropolitan region as as the city continues to witness hundreds of new cases on daily basis. The cases have been surged from the non-containment zones these days especially the areas which were once Green Zones are now turning a hotspot in COVID-19 saga.

Meanwhile, the Pune Municipal Corporation has finalised to conduct rapid antigen detection tests for diagnosis of coronavirus. The civic body has also received one lakh rapid antigen testing kits.

Also, Rajesh Tope, State Health Minister earlier said that there is no community transmission in Maharashtra and the plasma therapy is a very effective way of treatment against COVID and claimed that 9 out of 10 individuals are recovering after the treatment.
