COVID-19 Pune: City records 1,982 new patients and 49 new deaths on Sunday

In Pune, 4,868 suspects were sampled for RTPCR and antigen testing on Sunday.

Pune: 1,982 new COVID-19 cases were found in Pune on Sunday. This includes 1,225 patients from Pune city and 757 patients from the Pimpri Chinchwad areas. A total of 49 deaths were reported in Pune city (38) and Pimpri-Chinchwad (11).

In Pune, 4,868 suspects were sampled for RTPCR and antigen testing on Sunday. So far, 4.2 lakh samples have been taken for testing. And on Sunday, a total of 83,395 patients have tested positive in the city.

Apart from these numbers, 1,243 patients have recovered from COVID-19.

And so far, 66,589 patients have been discharged.

As many as 14,818 active patients are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the city. Of these, 2,661 patients are being treated and on oxygen. There are currently 803 critically ill patients, out of which 493 critically ill patients are on ventilators.

38 patients succumbed to the virus during treatment on Sunday, out of which 21 were men and 17 were women.

The age bracket of the deceased ranged from 31 to 93 year old.

These patients are from Hadapsar, Yerawada, Kondhwa, Wadgaon Budruk, Kothrud, Kasba Peth, Mangalwar Peth, Sadashiv Peth, Mundhwa, Dhankawadi, Vishrantwadi, Nana Peth, Uttam Nagar, Ghorpadi Peth, Fursungi, Ambegaon Budruk, Hingane Khurd, Ganj Peth, Warje He was a resident of Shivajinagar, Bibwewadi, Wadgaon Sheri, Katraj, Sahakar Nagar, Rasta Peth, Erandwane and Dhayari. The total death toll in the city has now reached 1,988.

In Pimpri-Chinchwad city, 757 new COVID-19 cases were found on Sunday. The total number of patients suffering from COVID-19 in the city currently is 42,249, of which 6,629 active patients are undergoing treatment.

On Sunday, 2,889 citizens were swab tested. 792 patients recovered from the COVID-19 were discharged. The number of recovered patients has risen to 27,957. Meanwhile, 312 people were quarantined. Eleven patients from Kalewadi, Chinchwad, Thergaon, Nigdi, Sangvi, Junnar, Ambegaon, Khed and Dhanori died. So far 934 patients have died.
