COVID-19 Pune: 3,658 patients discharged in one day, recovery rate improves

3,658 patients were discharged from the different hospitals in Pune district on Monday

Pune: Total 1,529 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Pune on Monday. Of which 781 were reported from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) limit followed by 748 from Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) jurisdiction. While 18 deaths were reported in Pune city and 20 in Pimpri Chinchwad on Monday.

On the positive front, the drop in the number of patients in both cities has brought some relief. 3,658 patients were discharged from the different hospitals in Pune district on Monday. In Pune, 4,604 suspects were sampled for RTPCR and antigen testing on Monday. So far 2.87 lakh samples have been taken for testing. Of the samples taken earlier, 781 samples patients have been tested positive on Monday. So far, 58,303 samples have tested positive.

Meanwhile, 1,822 patients were discharged during the day. So far, 39,939 people have been discharged after fighting the novel virus. As many as 16,981 active patients are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals in the city. Of these, 633 patients are critical and 389 critically patients are on ventilator support.

During treatment, 18 patients died in Pune on Monday, out of which 13 were men and 5 were women. The dead ranged in age from 45 to 94.  The patients were residents of Shukrawar Peth, Warje, Sadashiv Peth, Kothrud, Wanwadi, Hadapsar, Undri, Kondhwa, Fursungi, Lohegaon, Wadgaon Sheri, Balewadi, Mohammadwadi, Janata Vasahat, Kalas and Shaniwar Peth.

In Pimpri-Chinchwad, 748 new cases of coronavirus pandemic have been detected, the total number of coronavirus cases has now reached to 23,998. Currently, 3,895 active patients are undergoing treatment. Swab test of 770 people has been taken while 727 patients recovered from the contagion and were discharged. Now the number of discharged has reached 16,206. Meanwhile, 20 persons from Bhosari, Dapodi, Sangvi, Pimpri, Pimple Gurav, Thergaon, Kalewadi, Phugewadi, Nigdi, Maan and Fursungi died during treatment.


Even though the number of coronavirus pandemic patients are increasing day by day but the number of active patients in Pune has come down to 35 per cent.  According to the Smart City's survey report of coronavirus pandemic it was observed that on July 29, this year report, the number of patients has doubled to 25 days. Earlier, the rate was 19 days.
