COVID-19 Pune: 10 shopkeepers booked in Hinjewadi for not adhering to social distancing norms and violating 5 pm deadline

Pimpri: Due to the unlock, the shops were permitted to open until a limited time. But few shops and businessmen neglected the norms and kept their shops open till late evening. This has prompted the Hinjewadi police, which falls under the jurisdiction of Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate, have registered a case against such ten shopkeepers for allegedly violating the time limit and also for not following social distancing norms.

The action was initiated by the police on Saturday evening. The first action took place at Bhajipala Gale, at Vinode Vasti Corner, in Wakad. Police inspector V V Kadam has filed a complaint on the same case. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Gavind Billo Sarkar (53), Anant Nagar, Laxmi Chowk, Marunji, Biplop Pagalchand Biswas (25), resident of Vinod Vasti, Marunji, Swapnil Arun Bhakar (20), resident of Alhat Vasti, Marunji.

Another action was taken at Lakshmi Chowk in Hinjewadi. In this case, police officer A R Shaikh has filed a complaint. According to the police, Akash Deepak Nikam (80), resident of Velwande Vasti, Hinjawadi, Vandana Rajendra Nikam (40), resident of Buchade Vasti, Shinde Vasti, Marunji, Sarika Deepak Dhede (30), resident of Shivar Vasti, Marunji, have registered a case against Gunawantrao Panchak (52), resident of Velwande Vasti, Hinjewadi.

The third act took place at Vinod Vasti, in Wakad. In this case, police officer A A Rane has filed a complaint. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Mohammad Alamin Istiaq Ali Ghoshi (21), resident of Kalewadi, Vinod Bhai Karasandas Ramanandi (25), resident of Laxmi Chowk, Hinjewadi, Prakash Dhaglaram Chaudhary (28), resident of Warje Malwadi, Pune.

Some restrictions have been put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus. It is also necessary to observe physical distance by drawing a circle at a distance of six feet in front of each shop. Keep a distance of six feet between the two customers. However, the suspects continued to sell vegetables and fruits after 5 pm. Also, no measures have been taken regarding physical distance. Therefore, charges were filed against the accused traders. Hinjewadi police is further investigating the case.
