COVID-19: Pune’s recovery rate highest in country

Pune: Even as Pune continues to have the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country, it has also become the district with the highest number of recovered cases. Pune became the number one district in the country in terms of recoveries on Tuesday.

Till date, 1,84,649 patients have been recovered from the novel coronavirus in the district. Of which, 1,02,095 are from the Pune city (Pune Municipal Corporation) followed by 54,779 from Pimpri Chinchwad, 18,463 from Zilla Parishad, 5,63 from Nagarpalika and 3,676 from the Cantonment Board

Meanwhile, 2,481 new cases were reported on Tuesday taking the total to 22,73,07 in Pune district. On the positive front, 2922 patients were discharged from hospitals while 79 people succumbed to COVID-19.

Out of total 2,27,307 patients, 1,81,315 have been recovered and discharged from various hospitals, while 5,222 fatalities reported. There are still 32,132 active patients undergoing treatment, while 16,933 are under home isolation. Till now 95,00,96 people have been tested in the district.

Of the 2,27,307 patients include 1,20,757 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, 64,382 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 4,382 from Cantonment areas, 28,948 are from Rural areas, and 8,838 from the municipal council (Nagar Parishad).
