If your society does not abide by this order, then district authorities will take strict action against the society members under the Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Diseases Act.
Pune District Collector Naval Kishor Ram on Wednesday (June 10) has issued an order for all cooperative housing societies regarding the entry of electricians, plumbers and other essential, non-essential service providers. The order states that societies should not frame their orders and rules regarding the entry of such persons, and should abide by the guidelines issued by the state government and district administration from time to time.
Ram said, "Patients that have recovered from COVID-19 and are returning to their homes in housing societies should not be discriminated against or deserted by the society members. Also, the relatives and caretakers of such patients should not face any discriminatory action. All persons engaged in the essential services should not be mistreated or their entry-exit from the society premises should not be restricted."
"The societies should not frame their own rules and should not restrict or ban entry to plumbers, electricians or other gas, water supply services personnel. Those members violating these orders will face action under the Epidemic and Disaster Management Act," he added.
