Coronavirus Pune: 'More precautions needed in PCB', says District Collector

Pune: The Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) area has recorded 103 Covid-19 cases till Wednesday morning. District Collector Naval Kishore Ram visited parts of coronavirus-affected parts of Pune Cantonment on Tuesday against the backdrop of increasing number of positive cases in the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) area.

During the inspection, Collector Ram said that precautionary measures should be taken in the area.

The areas like Bhimpura, new Modikhana are adjacent to Bhawani Peth. Till Tuesday as many as 511 positive cases were registered in Bhawani Peth.  

The District Collector was accompanied by Major General Navneet Kumar, PCB President Brig. Kuljeet Singh, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amit Kumar during the inspection of the area.

Three-day shut down in force

The PCB area is currently under complete shut down. The three-day complete shut down since Tuesday will remain effective till Thursday (May 14). All shops in the area, except medical shops, will remain closed during this period. The medical shops will be allowed to remain open from 10 am to 1 pm and later between 5 pm and 8 pm.

2 more cases in Khadki Cantonment area

Two more positive cases have been found in the Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) including an Army jawan and a driver taking the number of positive cases in the area to 29. According to the officials, the driver is working with a private hospital in the city and resident of Khadki Bazar area. The Army person has been admitted at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Hospital, it was stated.
