Pune: Coronavirus positive cases are not only increasing from the containment zone of Pune district, but the administration has found that 35 per cent positive cases have been reported outside the containment zone said the Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram on Thursday.
Addressing media via video conferencing Ram on Thursday said, “At present, we can’t forecast about the further extension of lockdown after May 31.
“The status report of Corona has been sent to Maharashtra State government, and they are completely aware of the situation in our District. They will further decide on the extension.”
Talking about the current situation on corona patient’s cases report, he said, “The positive cases of this virus are not only reported from the containment zone but now it is a matter of concern that the incidents are alarming from the non-containment zone too. As initially there was some 25 per cent of such cases reported outside the containment zone, but now the number has increased to 35 per cent. In order to tackle such a situation, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has come with a Response Mechanism Team which is observing the patients and analysing the cause of death. This has helped us in pulling down the death rate by 4.4 per cent. Such work of data analysis, observation and compiling is taking place.”
The Pune Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer mentioned, “There are grievances about private hospitals are not admitting the patients based on the complaints we are probing and reviewing. As well as in rural areas, we are taking effective measures to prevent and curb the coronavirus cases.”
“There is a lot of stress, and trauma corona infected person and their family is undergoing, tackling it Sassoon General Hospital has started an initiative of counselling such patients as well as the family members via video calling.”
