Coronavirus Pune: City records 460 new patients, 117 discharged, 12 dead

Day by day the coronavirus pandemic havoc is rising in Pune district and on Wednesday as many as 460 people were tested positive, 117 were discharged and 12 died due to the pandemic.

On Wednesday in Pune, 12 people lost their lives while undergoing treatment, out of which 10 were men while the other two were female.

In Pune city, a total of 232 patients of COVID-19 are in critical condition, while 44 are on the ventilator. The number of deaths in Pune has now reached to 481 and there are a total of 3,449 active corona cases.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Wednesday, issued a press release in which it stated that a total of 10,643 coronavirus positive patients have been reported since March 6, since the first positive case was reported. So far around 6,713 patients have been discharged while 2,841 suspected cases reports are pending. On Wednesday, within a span of 24 hours, 460 new patients have approached the hospital.

Out of the 12 deaths, it comprised of people who were 40 to 86-years-old and these people already had other health issues. The people who died were residents of Hadapsar, Aundh, Kasba Peth, Parvati, Old Wadarwadi, Kondhwa and Lonavala.

Pune Municipal Corporation, Mayor Murlidhar Mohol said to Sakal Times, "The administration, police, our civic body and others are taking effective steps to curb the virus but it is spreading. Still, we have a ray of hope that recovery from this virus is also a positive sign that the efforts are paid off. We have appealed to citizens to approach us even if they are having a small doubt of virus symptoms. The patients who died while undergoing treatment were having other medical issues too. Our team is doing a good job and we are well equipped."
