Coronavirus Pune: Bharti Hospital tests Covidshield vaccine on nine volunteers

A total of nine people, four on Thursday and three on Friday, were given Covidshield at the hospital. Some of them are women volunteers.

Pune: After two volunteers were vaccinated against corona at the Pune based Bharti Hospital on Wednesday, more volunteers are being vaccinated every day.

A total of nine people, four on Thursday and three on Friday, were given Covidshield at the hospital. Some of them are women volunteers.

The second phase of human testing of corona developed by Serum Institute in Pune has been started in Pune. It was started at the Bharti Hospital on Satara Road. Thereafter, the vaccine will be given to the volunteers every day. Meanwhile, two volunteers were also vaccinated on Thursday at the KEM Research Center in Wadu Budruk. However, it was not given to them on Friday. Vaccination is also pending at the Sassoon General Hospital and at the Jahangir Hospital.

The vaccine at Bharti Hospital is currently being doctored to five women and four men.

Dr Sanjay Lalvani, Medical Director, Bharti Hospital spoke to Sakal Times and said, "So far, nine volunteers have been vaccinated at the hospital. Earlier, he was tested for antibodies and RTPCR. They have been given a dose after finding it negative. Another 9 volunteers will be vaccinated on Saturday. The volunteers given earlier are in good health."
