Pune: The District Consumer Forum has ordered WS Developers to refund about Rs 25 lakh to flat purchasers, who did not get possession of the booked flats on Wednesday.
Dr Dipali Biswas and Debesh Kumar Biswas, both residents of Dhayari, had booked the flats in Srushti Regency Housing Project in Wade Bolhai near Wagholi, while Anjali Anand Ratnakar of Kalyan, and Irfan Shaikh of Camp, Pune, had booked flats in Srushti Orbit Housing Project in Wagholi.
The builder submitted to the forum that they have already transferred the project to another builder and the refund issue is a civil case matter.
The builder asked the forum to dismiss the case.
However, Additional District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum found the builder guilty of deficiency in service.
The builder was ordered to refund Rs 7.77 lakh with 12 per cent interest since 2015 to Shaikh besides Rs 35,000 as compensation.
Ratnakar will get a refund of Rs 3.51 lakh and Rs 35,000 compensation.
The forum ordered the builder to refund Rs 3.19 lakh to Debesh and pay him Rs 35,000, and also refund Rs 9.23 lakh to Dipali besides Rs 35,000 as compensation.
