PUNE: BJP National Spokesperson Sayed Shahnawaz Hussain on Friday said Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) will get single-digit seats in the State Assembly elections. He alleged that the NCP is the ‘B’ team of Congress.
Hussain was in Pune for the poll campaign. During his visit, he interacted with Sakal Times. He said that the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance will break all previous records.
Reacting to opposition’s charge that BJP does not have any issue and is using Article 370 and Kashmir in Maharashtra elections, he said, “Congress and NCP will have to decide. We are asking them to contest on corruption and our five-year work. Both Congress and NCP are the same. NCP is the ‘B’ team of Congress. Both the parties have to answer for what took place in the last 50 years. We are raising all such issues. Defence personnel from Maharashtra have sacrificed their lives in Jammu & Kashmir. It is impossible that they would question us on Savarkar and we won’t retort.”
“We are contesting Maharashtra elections on the work done by CM Devendra Fadnavis in the last five years. He has worked very well for the State. Our performance is better than Congress and NCP. Fadnavis has worked very well. Our prime minister and all top leaders are contesting the elections over state issues,” said Hussain.
On the issue of Ayodhya, the BJP spokesperson said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah, who is also Home Minister, have already said that the matter is in the court. Amit Shah said the court’s verdict will be respected. It will strengthen the unity of Hindus and Muslims. It will resolve all disputes.”
