CMDA organises IT Expo 2017 in Pune

Pune: Amruta Fadnavis, Vice President of Axis Bank and wife of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis visited an e-waste collection and information centre at IT Expo 2017 organised by Computers and Media Dealers Association (CMDA) at Agriculture College ground on Thursday. 

The collection centre and information centre has been set up by Anand Computer Systems, the authorised agency of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) for e-waste collection.

Speaking at the inauguration of CMDA IT Expo, Fadnavis said, “IT should touch every area to make a difference. Pune has the identity of being the IT capital of Maharashtra, but working together with the supportive government, institutions like CMDA and the IT industry should try to make it the IT capital of India and the world.”

A helpline was launched at the Expo to help the public find the right people for the collection of e-waste. Those interested in give away e-waste like computers, keyboards, phones, panels, routers, servers, printers, and cables can contact 9371015373. Shravan Hardikar, Commissioner, PCMC,  Rajendra Jagtap, CEO, Smart City Pune,  Narendra Modi, CMDA Pune President, Vivek Ashturkar, Convenor and Vice President, Satyen Shah, Secretary, Amitabh Nigam, Assistant Regional Manager of Logitech India and Amol Shahane regional manager Logitech were also present on the occasion.

The exhibition displayed excellent technology and technical products with the participation of over 100 exhibitors. ‘Path towards Digital Transformation’ is the key concept of IT Expo 2017.  

C-DAC super computer Param Shavak predicting accurate weather forecasts, SWAYAM Satellite and award winning robots developed by of College of Engineering Pune (COEP), Pune smart city and e-waste collection centre are some of the main attractions among other modern products.

This IT Expo is open for all till December 11 from 10 am to 8 pm every day.
