PUNE: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has appointed a consultant for town planning (TP) schemes in the 11 newly-merged villages for their planned development. The PMC has decided to implement the schemes on 651 hectares of land in two merged villages initially. The schemes will avoid unauthorised and haphazard development in these villages.
The decision was taken in the Standing Committee meeting on Wednesday. The civic panel approved a proposal to appoint Gujarat-based Design Point Consultant Pvt Ltd for the purpose. The company will submit a plan to PMC’s Development Plan (DP) department.
The PMC will implement the TP schemes first in Urali-Devachi and Phursungi villages.
It has identified 651 hectares of land for the scheme in these two villages. The consultant will study the plan and submit a detailed report to the civic body.
Standing Committee Chairman Sunil Kamble said, “The PMC will pay Rs 98.30 lakh to the consultant. Of the six consultants, PMC chose Design Point Consultant Pvt Ltd as it has quoted lower consultancy charges as compared to other firms.”
The civic body will implement the TP scheme on 110 hectares of land in Urali-Devachi and on 541 hectares of land in Phursungi.
Earlier, these two villages were a part of the Pune Mahanagar Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) region, which had announced the town planning scheme in these villages. However, the villages were merged in the Pune Municipal Corporation in 2017. Now, PMC has decided to implement the schemes.
In February 2017, the State government decided to merge Lohegaon, Shivne-Uttam Nagar, Shivne, Mundhwa, Hadapsar-Sade Satra Nali, Ambegaon Khurd, Undri, Dhayari, Ambegaon Budruk, Uruli Devachi and Phursungi within PMC limits.
The PMC has begun infrastructure development in the 11 merged villages and it will construct a major road in each village by spending Rs 73 lakh each.
Dhanori Lohegaon-Wagholi Road, Malwadi to Sade Satra Nali, Z Chowk to Sade Satra Nali, Keshav Nagar to Manjari, Saswad Road, Phursungi Road, Mantarwadi to Urali-Devachi Road, Ambegaon Khurd to Lake Vista City, Ambegaon Khurd to Pune-Satara Road, subway to Ambegaon crematorium, Dhayari-Pari Company to DSK Vishwa Road and NDA Road are the major roads being constructed by the civic body.
