“His sad demise has shocked all of us. It is a personal loss to me. He was like my younger brother. He was a brilliant spine surgeon who had healed lakhs of patients. He had successfully carried out over 10,000 surgeries. He headed our spine surgery department for over 15 years. This is a great loss not only for medical fraternity but also patients,” said Dr Sancheti.

Dr Shailesh Hadgaonkar, Consultant Spine Surgeon and Unit Head Education at the Sancheti Hospital, said Dr Khurjekar was known for his work in and around Pune.
