City’s educational institutes celebrate International Yoga Day

Pune: Students and teachers from several prestigious educational institutes in the city enthusiastically performed asanas on the occasion of International Yoga Day which was celebrated on June 21 on Thursday. 

JN Petit Technical School
JN Petit Technical High School celebrated the International Yoga Day on Thursday, in which group of students demonstrated different asanas and breathing techniques. Principal Archana Kalra who guided the students said, “There is a need to balance the physical being with the intellectual, emotional and psychological dimensions which will come through the right thought and right action.”

Vidya Pratishthan’s New English Medium School
In another event, Vidya Pratishthan’s New English Medium School (VPNEMS) also celebrated International Yoga Day. 

A teacher from this prestigious school said that with the busy lifestyle of students, it is difficult to find time for physical activities. She added that through Yoga, the school tried to remind the students how a few minutes of breathing exercise can help them relax and concentrate better. The event started with a prayer followed by different asanas.

Suryadatta Sports and Fitness Academy
Suryadatta Group of Institute, Suryadatta Sports and Fitness Academy also celebrated International Yoga Day. 

The students of Suryadatta assembled at Surya Bhawan and performed various forms of Yoga asanas as a part of this global initiative and experience the power of yoga.

Sanjay B Chordiya, Founder President and Chairman of Suryadatta Group of Institutes, said, “Students should do yoga every day and they should design their day in such a way that it includes minimum 30 to 60 minutes of exercise including yoga and meditation.”

City Pride School Nigdi
City Pride School Nigdi, also took part in this Yoga Day celebration with the students of standard I to X. Various asanas like tadasan, vrukshasan, bhujangasan, bhadrasan, vajrasan and shasahankasan were performed.
