The labourers who have been asked to take leave as a precaution must be given paid leaves.

PUNE: The Centre for Trade Unions (CITU) has asked the government to bring in initiatives to protect the livelihoods of daily wage labourers.

The organisation has demanded to bring provisions that will make it mandatory for private and public sector organisations to give employment and social security to the permanent, contractual and daily wage labourers. The labourers who have been asked to take leave as a precaution must be given paid leaves.

The government should also stock ration supply to distribute it amongst workers for free.
