CID organises competitions for State police personnel

PUNE: As part of the 17th annual conference of the Maharashtra State Police Duty (MSPD) Meet which commenced on Monday at the SRPF ground in Ramtekdi, the premier investigating agency of the State Government, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) organised various competitions including scientific aids to investigation, computer awareness, competition on packing, lifting and labelling and written test events among the police personnel.

The motive of organising the competition is to test their investigative skills and professional experience in the service. Such competitions help them to use the latest technology and scientific methods for detecting crime.

In lifting, packing and labelling competition held on November 25, as many as 53 police personnel took part, in which Mumbai city police bagged the first prize with 33 marks, Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) with 32.5 marks bagged the second prize, and Pune city police  bagged the third prize.

In the law test of ‘scientific aids to investigation’ competition, Konkan range police bagged Gold medal, Mumbai range police division bagged Silver medal, and Kolhapur range police bagged the bronze medal.

In the computer awareness competition, a total of 39 police personnel took part. The wireless unit in Maharashtra police with 63 marks  bagged the first prize, while Nashik city police bagged the second prize and Thane city police the third prize. 

Pune Police Commissioner K Venkatesham will inaugurate the meet on November 27 at SRPF ground in Ramtekdi at 4.30 pm, and closing ceremony will be performed on November 30 at 4.30 pm by Maharashtra Director General of Police (DGP) Subodh Kumar Jaiswal.
