PUNE: Bangladeshi-American child prodigy Soborno Bari visited Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) on Monday for a special lecture where he talked about his book ‘The Love’ and campaigned to create a world without terrorism.
On January 3, 2020 Bari was awarded with Global Child Prodigy Award, given by Nobel prize winner Kailash Satyarthi in New Delhi.
Born in the family of 9/11 survivor, 7-year-old Bari is a student in ‘Gifted & Talented’ program in New York City where, the president of the City College of New York called him the ‘Einstein of our Time’ in 2014.
In 2016 and 2018, he received recognition from ex-president of United States Barack Obama and from Harvard University.
Currently, he is working on two projects, first is creating Nasrul, a Humanatic Robot and collaborating with Dannile Liberman, an MIT scientist, on a new book ‘The Black Hole’.
In his lecture, Bari talked about his fight with Imams to change their preception on non-Muslims and his fight with Muslim-Americans to denounce terrorism and be patriotic towards nations where he talked about terrorist attacks like 9/11 and Pulwama attack.
With the help of many publications in US, Bari made two documentaries is ‘I am Muslim and I love America’ and ‘I am Muslim and I love Christmas’. These documentaries inspired many people to join his campaign.
While getting support from all the over America, he decided to write a book about his campaign titled ‘The Love’.
While interacting with Sakal Times, Bari said, “The people of the world should respect other religions -- then we can have world peace not destruction and terrorism. If we embrace love, then one day terrorism and destruction won’t even be a word in this world.”
In the future, he wants to be a physics professor because his hobby is to solve physics problems and mostly those related to astro-physics.
