CBI registers an FIR against SBI officials for fraud

PUNE: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Pune Unit, has booked 14 persons including five officials of the State Bank of India (SBI), Pirangut branch, for allegedly conniving a private company in fraudulently disbursing loan to the tune of Rs 12 crore. 

SBI, Zonal Office, Pune, General Manager Rajendra Kumar lodged the complaint on December 7.

As per the complaint, the incident took place between 2017 and 19. 

According to the Central Bureau of Investigation, the accused persons conspired in the matter of sanction and disbursement of Credit Facility under Builder Finance Scheme availed from State Bank of India and committed offences of criminal conspiracy and cheating by causing wrongful loss to the tune of Rs 12.34 crore to SBI. 

The case was registered against M/S Swaroop Homes LLP, Kasba Peth, Pune and its partners Priyanka Alande and Jidnyasa Patil; M/S Sai Essen 94 LLP (partners  Ashok Mane, Deepak Ashok Mane, Surendra B Agrawal, Satish B Agrawal, Narendra B Agrawal and Nitin B Agrawal; Tejas More, Swapnil Alande; Bhausaheb Bhosale (guarantor); Manisha Bhausaheb Bhosale (guarantor); KKSS & Associates (CA through partner); Adv Dattatray Mali, for criminal conspiracy with bank officials namely Anubhuti Tripathi, the then Branch Manager, SBI, Pirangut branch; Amit Patil, the then Credit Support Officer, Sneha Jadhav, the next Branch Manager, and Manavendra Ashok, the then RMRE, RB0-111, SBI, Pune West, Pune. 

The accused persons have been charged for offences under sections 120b (criminal conspiracy), 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. After registration of the case, searches were conducted at homes and offices of the accused persons.
