Cambridge International School celebrates Ganeshotsav

Pune: Cambridge International School celebrated the beautiful journey of Lord Ganesh for five days with festive fervour.

The celebration started on August 25 and the school premises were decorated with flowers, buntings, swings and pictures of Ganpati.

The idol was installed in a pandal followed by Ganesh shloka ‘Vakratunda Mahakaya’ and maha aarti was performed by Director of the school Dhananjay Varnekar, Director Ram Raina, Principal Babita Nair, HoD of Jet India Shirin Vastani and Vice-Principal Sarabjeet Kaur.

A ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ consisting of ‘shlokas’ about Lord Ganpati was sung by all teachers and students.

On the fourth day of the festival, a special Satyanarayan pooja was organised in the presence of corporator Meenal Yadav, Sheetal Varnekar and PSI Ratnamala Sawant. Students were told to make Ganesh idols of clay. The process of idol-making was taken up in the school to make students aware of eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi celebration. Visarjan was carried out on the fifth day. Cambridge International School took the initiative to be a part of the clean drive and Swachh Bharat by immersing the Ganpati idol in an artificial pond.
