Burglary amounting to more than Rs 24 lakhs took place at Pimple Nilakh

Cash and ornaments worth Rs 24 lakh stolen from flat

Pune: In a daylight robbery, cash and valuables worth Rs 24,69,000 were looted from a flat at Pimple Nilakh on Wednesday. The burglary took place when the owners of the house were out for work. According to the Sangvi police, the incident occurred when the complainant Karripal Joseph Thomas and his wife had gone to their office on Wednesday.

The police said that Thomas and his wife locked the door and left for work in the morning. However, when they returned, they found that the lock of the house was broken. The thieves made away with ornaments and cash amounting to Rs 24, 69,000 from the house of the complainant.

The police have registered a case of burglary against unknown thieves and have initiated a probe to arrest them.
