Body of missing doctor found in car near dam

Pune: The body of a 47-year-old missing doctor from Dhayari was found in his car near Khadakwasla dam backwaters on Friday midnight. The police said that the deceased, Dr Kishor Devidas Shendge, a resident of Raikarnagar, Dhayari, was missing since Thursday evening.

He informed his wife that he was going out but did not return home. He had spoken to his family members when he was in Khanapur. As he didn’t return home, his wife Shraddha lodged a missing report with Abhiruchi police chowki, under Sinhagad Road police station, on Friday evening.

A patrolling team of Haveli police station under Pune rural police found his body in his Creta car on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

The car was not locked and cops found him lying unconscious on the back seat. The police called the ambulance and a doctor who declared him dead. With the help of car’s registration number, the police reached his house and learnt about the missing case. Shendge worked as veteranary doctor in Dhayari.

”The body was sent for post-mortem to Sassoon General Hospital. His viscera has been preserved for further analysis to ascertain the cause of his death. Further action will be taken after getting the report,” a police officer told Sakal Times.
