Boarded out cadets to resume study at NEHU

PUNE: The National Defence Academy (NDA) and North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, will soon sign an MoU for admitting cadets who board out from NDA during training. The officials said that similar pacts will be signed with other varsities also.  Prof SK Srivastava, Vice-Chancellor of NEHU, who was chief guest for the convocation, on Friday spoke about the MoU.

Every year about 600 cadets graduate from the NDA, while about 12 cadets are medically boarded out every year. In the last 10 years, 138 cadets have been boarded out.

NDA Commandant Air Marshal IP Vipin told the cadets, “Cadets, as you go out of the portals of this academy, remember that on you remains the onerous responsibility of safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of this nation,”

Rear Admiral SK Grewal, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, presented the vote of thanks on the conclusion of the ceremony.
