BJP workers upbeat

Yogesh Gogawale said, “It is very obvious that workers will feel excited after the victory but the party has decided that they will have a controlled celebration due to the recent drought in the State.”

PUNE: A day prior to the result day, Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) central office in the city looked all geared up for the D Day. BJP City President Yogesh Gogawale issued instructions to 114 counting agents for Pune constituency. The counting agents have been asked to reach the counting station at Koregaon Park by 6:30 am. The party has arranged a LCD screen at the party office on May 23 for the workers to view the results. Gogawale said that the party has decided to observe low key celebration due to the recent drought.

Adding that counting agents have been instructed to remain vigilant, Gogawale added that they have asked them to not to leave the counting centre before counting of  the last EVM machine is over. 

While speaking to Sakal Times, Gogawale added that the party workers are confident of victory in Pune as well as in Centre not because of exit poll but due to the government’s performance which people have witnessed since 2014.  Gogawale said that there will be a controlled celebration due to the recent drought. 

He said, “It is very obvious that workers will feel excited after the victory but the party has decided that they will have a controlled celebration due to the recent drought in the State.”

He further said, “EVMs have already got a clearance from the judiciary. There is no reason to doubt but it is the strategy of the opposition to enrage people by raising this issue.””

“We have cutouts and hoarding of Girish Bapat and other leaders in our office but we were not using them due to model code of conduct but we will use them after the results are declared,” said Ujjwal Keskar, General Secretary, BJP, Pune city

Keskar who is confident of BJP’s victory from Pune, said, ”We are expecting Bapat to win with a minimum difference of 1.85 lakh of votes.”

Swarada Bapat, daughter-in-law of Bapat and Vice-President, BJP youth wing (Maharashtra), and member of State Child Rights Commission said that family members are confident of Bapat’s victory. She said that Bapat’s networking and accessibility are his USP. 

TEA WITH SHIROLE
Former MP Anil Shirole has tweeted that whoever predicts the exact number of seats that the BJP will get, will have an opportunity to have tea with him. Shirole’s tweet got more than 90 replies and majority of them predicted that 300 plus seats for NDA. When Sakal Times spoke to Shirole, he said that he was confident that Bapat will retain the Pune seat with a huge margin.
