PCMC LoP has been away from his chamber
Pimpri: Following allegations from fellow party workers about his failure to discharge his duties in an efficient manner, Leader of Opposition in the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Yogesh Behl seems to be staying away from his chamber.
If the grapevine is to be believed, Behl has allegedly also submitted his resignation to party leader Ajit Pawar last month. The sources say that it has not yet been accepted. On the other hand, NCP corporators Nana Kate and Datta Sane, the claimants for this post, are seen more in PCMC. Considering this, it is assumed that leader of the opposition will be replaced in the near future.
Behl was absent on the day of the election of chairperson of the Standing Committee. Similarly, he was not seen when NCP corporator Moreshwar Bhondwe filed his nomination for the post of chairperson. According to sources, Behl is reportedly upset with the demand for his removal from the post. He had resigned following the demands made for his removal.
It is likely that new opposition leader will be elected on May 22. Behl was the only prominent leader who was absent during the announcement of the women’s wing of party’s executive committee on Wednesday. However, Behl has denied these reports and claimed that he was absent for this meeting as he had to go to Pune to meet a close relative who was hospitalised.
