Avoid political flags, sloganeering during event, appeal organisers

Pune: The much talked about interview of NCP Chief Sharad Pawar by MNS Chief Raj Thackeray will be held on February 21 (Wednesday) at BMCC College at 5 pm.

The organisers have appealed to people to not consider it a political event and avoid party slogans. Jagatik Marathi Academy’s President and poet Ramdas Phutane made the appeal at a press conference.

He said, “It is a free event. It has been organised on the occasion of Sharad Pawar completing his 50th year in the political, social, agricultural and cultural sectors. It is about Pawar’s journey in different fields. Former Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde will felicitate Sharad Pawar. At this event, leaders of two generations will participate, one is Raj Thackeray and the other is Sharad Pawar. Thackeray will interview Pawar.”
Bharat Vikas Group (BVG) Founder and Shod Marathi Manacha’s Hanumant Gaikwad and Sachin Itkar were also present at the press conference.

The organisers have made special arrangements for parking in open spaces at the BMCC Ground and Deccan Gymkhana’s open area. There will also be traffic changes in view of the event. People should avoid using private vehicles and use public transport instead to avoid inconvenience. Entry will be on a first-come basis. People should reach by 4 pm.

Prominent Marathi personalities like Lila Gandhi, Chandu Boarde, Nagraj Manjule, Vilas Rakate, Sandeep Wasalekar, Dr PD Patil and Hanmantrao Gaikwad, will be felicitated at the event. Marathi senior actor Ashok Saraf will be awarded the lifetime achievement award.
