PUNE: An FIR has been registered against a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and three others, including two women, for threatening and attempting to extort money from a Marathi film actor for withdrawing a molestation case lodged against the actor.
One of the two women, an actress, had lodged a molestation complaint against the actor in September last year with the Wanawadi police station. Both the actors had worked together in a film. The two women, along with the ATS officer, were since threatening the actor to give them Rs 14 lakh to settle the case.
The 28-year-old actor has lodged the FIR with Sahakar Nagar police station against the four accused persons. The police have arrested goon Ram Bharat Jagdale of Swami Om Group, Sahakar Nagar.
The actor was called to Jagdale’s office on September 28 last year and he along with his relatives were confined there between 5 pm to 8 pm. He was allegedly forced to apologise to the actress. They forced him to touch her leg and apologise and also filmed the act. Jagdale had allegedly threatened the actor to kill with pistol and also threatened to throw acid on him. They had demanded Rs 15 lakh to settle the molestation complaint.
The actor had reportedly paid Rs one lakh to the police sub-inspector. As he failed to give the remaining amount, the other woman accused, who is friend of the actress, who is currently residing in Dubai, circulated his video of apologising to the actress. Soon, the video went viral on social media.
The actor then lodged a complaint with Pune city police. After enquiry, the FIR was registered on Wednesday night at Sahakar Nagar police station.
