Around 36,237 FYJC seats still vacant

PUNE: As per the data released by the Education Department on Friday, even after seven rounds of the admission process for First Year Junior College (FYJC) in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, 36,237 seats are still vacant for academic year 2019-20.

This year, a total of 1,04,139 seats were available for Std XI admissions at 296 junior colleges across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. As many as 77,280 candidates had registered for the Std XI centralised admission process (CAP). 

Out of them, 67,902 candidates have taken admission in the colleges allotted to them till October 9. The admission process consisted of three rounds, one special round and three first come first serve (FCFS) rounds.
