Another fake travelling ticket examiner nabbed in 10 days

Pune: A vigilant railway Ticket Inspector Sunil Malusare caught an imposter working as a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) who was fleecing passengers on Pune-Indore Express recently.

Interestingly, this is the second incident in the last 10 days when the railway authorities have nabbed imposters.  The person was handed over to the Kalyan Railway Protection Force (RPF). Earlier, a fake TTE was caught in Azad Hind Express running between Pune and Howrah. The person was identified as Swapneel Pundalik Palve.

As per information provided by a senior officer from Pune Railway Division, “Four fake TTEs have been caught till now.  Two such imposters were nabbed at Pune-Lonavla section two months ago.”

Manoj Jhawar, spokesperson of Pune Railway Division said, “Malusare was on duty on Pune-Indore Express. He was informed by a few passengers about a person who was checking passengers’ tickets. He was forcing passengers to pay fine despite having confirmed reservation tickets. After receiving the information, Malusare confronted the imposter and asked him about his identity, which the imposter failed to show. He immediately informed the control room and handed him over to RPF at Kalyan station.”

Railway has registered a case under section 154 of CRPC and further investigation is being carried out by Government Railway Police (GRP), Kalyan.
