After 4 rounds of CAP, over 30,000 students yet to take admissions

Pune: More than 30,000 students, who had applied for admissions to Std XI in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad through online Centralised Admission Process (CAP), have still not taken admissions, after the four regular rounds of admissions.

A total of 45,330 students have taken admissions in the higher secondary schools and junior colleges in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad at the end of the fourth regular round.

These will now be followed by a special round of admissions and a 'first come first served' (FCFS) round. Till now, out of the 75,393 candidates, who have applied for admissions to Std XI, 30,609 have still not taken admissions at any college.

Together with the general vacant seats and seats surrendered by the minority schools and colleges, there are a total of 36,769 vacancies left for the students in the next two rounds. Even those students, who have not at all entered the system yet, will have an opportunity to fill in the application forms. The students, who had not taken admissions despite being allotted colleges with first preference lists, were blocked from the process for the further rounds. These students will again be considered during the FCFS round.
