Advertisement on recruitment of teachers will be put up tomorrow

PUNE: While the fight of the DTEd BEd Association for the teachers’ recruitment process to continue, after a recent meeting, the candidates have been assured that the advertisements for the vacancies will be put up on Thursday.

Also, while earlier, the vacant seats for the primary schools were to be filled majorly, now approval has been received from the Department of Rural Development for the announcement of vacancies for the Classes VI to VIII as well. Thus, around 50 per cent of the 4,000 vacancies of these will be declared in the first round.

“Earlier, the teachers’ vacancies for these classes took place by promotions. We were trying to make a change in this so that these take place by direct recruitment only, and that has been approved today,” Santosh Magar, Founder President of the Association said.

Many candidates, under the banner of the Association, were on an indefinite hunger strike outside the office of State Education Commissioner in the city for around 10 days, demanding that the recruitment process begins before the code of conduct for Lok Sabha election is implemented.

“The declaration of advertisement for the vacant posts before the code of conduct has been one of our major concerns,” said Parmeshwar Ingole of the Association while talking to Sakal Times.

He added, “We have now been assured that the recruitment will take place in two phases. They will open around 10,000 to 14,000 vacancies in the first round that will take place before the Lok Sabha elections. The second phase will take place before Maharashtra State Assembly elections.”

The uploading of the advertisements might take a couple of days. The candidates will be able to give their priority list for the recruitment only after all the advertisements have been uploaded on the portal.

“We are following up with the authorities continuously and trying that they open as many vacancies as possible so that maximum candidates are benefitted,” Ingole stated.
