Pune: A 47-year-old man was duped of Rs 2.18 lakh by a trickster on the pretext of giving him possession of a car from Pune airport. The car was brought by him through e-commerce website OLX.

A complaint about the fraud was registered at Bharti Vidyapeeth police station by the complainant Manoj Mutha, a resident of Bibvewadi on Friday.

According to the police, the complainant was interested in buying a four-wheeler which he saw on OLX. For the first time, he contacted the unknown fraudster who posted the advertisement regarding the car on February 13. He contacted the fraudster on three different numbers and was told by him to collect the vehicle from the cargo at Pune airport.
